The Big Lake Book Club | Winter 2026
Description
Welcome!
It’s year three of The Big Lake Winter Book Club, and we are so excited to welcome new faces and welcome back returning readers. If you’ve been looking for a book club and have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
We’re experimenting with structure this year! We’ll read three books altogether from January - April, but our club meeting in March will be a “silent book club,” where we can show up to read whatever we want but in community - and I’m sure we’ll get to chatting a bit, too. We’re continuing our tradition in this book club of exploring a variety of books and genres, including feminist short stories, some lovely, nature-based nonfiction, and a novel that provokes a lot of questions about today’s political climate through a historical lens (and if that sounds too dry: it’s also one of my favorite, most swoon-worthy love stories I’ve read in the last few years!).
The book list and full schedule are below; we’ll once again be meeting in Lady Superior Bottle Shop on third Tuesdays, 6-7:30 p.m., January - April.
Come read with us!
January 20: A Comfort of Crows by Margaret Renkl
February 17: Difficult Women by Roxanne Gay
March 17: A silent book club meeting! (The book for April is long, so I wanted to build in an extra month where we still connect, but no one is stressed about finishing! Bring April’s book to read, or another you’re working through.)
April 21: The Flight Portfolio by Julie Orringer (and, as has become tradition, a potluck to celebrate!)
