Some of us know this joy—to slip away from roads and hustle for a half mile of streaming water, washed rocks and quiet observation of the latest blooms, newest berries and the community of birds and beasts living among it. Blood pressure settles, new thoughts come to mind and our bodies drink in some peace.
If you can, you should. Even shoulder pads and briefcases are allowed on the trail.
